Essex based housing association announces new Chief Operating Officer

15 August 2019

Essex housing association CHP is pleased to announce Kate Franklin has been promoted to the newly created role of Chief Operating Officer.
Kate joined CHP in January 2019 as interim Housing Director from a background in marketing, customer experience and transformation. She has held senior roles at both commercial not-for-profit organisations in sectors including retail, transport and housing.
Kate’s appointment comes a time of change for CHP as it embarks on delivering a new corporate strategy with the mission of transforming lives.
CHP Chief Executive Mary Gibbons said: “Since joining CHP, Kate has been crucial in developing our approach to ensuring customers are put at the heart of our business. We are transforming the way we deliver our services to make us really easy to use and, with Kate leading this, I know she will work with our customers to ensure we meet their needs. One of the lessons from Grenfell is that social housing tenants don’t feel heard. At CHP we want to do everything we can to listen to our customers and organise our operations around them.”
Kate Franklin, Chief Operating Officer, said: “This is an exciting time for the organisation as we shift focus from being a company that builds homes to one that changes people’s lives. I am delighted to take on this new role at CHP and do what I can to help the company address the housing crisis in Essex. I am really looking forward to working with the great team we have here to get to know our customers better and put them at the forefront our decision making and service design.”
