Maldon successfully completes TA scheme for homeless

26 February 2025

A significant milestone has been celebrated by Maldon District Council. Maldon has successfully completed a temporary accommodation scheme for homeless individuals in Mid-Essex which includes a wheelchair accessible unit funded through Maldon’s Disabled Facilities Grant underspend.  This Disabled Facilities Grant Social Care Capital investment is the first of its kind in Essex.

The scheme was delivered by Re-Gen UK Construction Ltd, a Billericay-based company which specialises in Social Housing refurbishment and construction.   This collaborative effort between Housing, Health and Social Care is designed to keep residents safe and independent within the community,  allowing them to live their lives to the fullest while reducing pressure on services. With more Social Care Capital projects in the pipeline across Essex, we are optimistic about continuing to develop creative housing solutions that support adults with disabilities in our region.
