Meet the sponsors of the Essex Housing Awards 2024

28 October 2024

The nine sponsors of The Essex Awards 2024, held in association with Birketts, look forward to celebrating the Essex housing industry’s successes.

The Essex Housing Awards 2024 is a commitment to celebrating excellence across the public, private, and voluntary sectors and providing them with a platform to inspire, share knowledge and raise the standards of housing and communities in Essex going forward.

This year’s awards feature a total of 12 award categories all reflecting the current issues facing the housing industry, including three new categories: Excellence in Biodiversity Conservation and Enhancement, Healthy Housing and Smart Working.

The event promises to be a lively occasion, especially with Mark Easton returning as host of the November Awards Ceremony following many personal requests.

Now, let’s hear from the generous supporters about the value of the event and their continued contributions and what they are looking forward to most:

Alasdair Sherry, Planning Manager at Anderson Developments

“Our support for these awards centres on our strong ties to Essex. Our company is headquartered in Essex and we rely on this area for much of our workforce, our supply chain partners and of course our customers.

“We look forward to catching up with industry friends and colleagues – and of course sponsoring the Mo Slade award that recognises the very best of the next generation’s place shapers!

“[I believe the Awards allows us] to pause occasionally and celebrate those up-and-coming practitioners who truly standout in their field. Everyone at Anderson Developments wishes you all good luck. It is an amazing achievement – enjoy the whole experience and we look forward to celebrating with you – you are all winners at this point!”

Grace Kerr, Partner and Head of Real Estate at Birketts

“We’re delighted to see that the calibre of applications has continued to rise and that this year’s awards are celebrating such high-quality developments, organisations and people.

“[This November,] I’m looking forward to coming together with representatives from across Essex’s housing market to celebrate all those recognised for their hard work and contributions.

“Good luck! You should all be very proud of your achievements in making this year’s shortlist.”

Paul Edwards, Chief Executive at CHP

“We’re pleased to be involved with the Essex Housing Awards once again, celebrating excellence across the sector. Meeting housing need and addressing the shortfall in affordable housing has never been more important and the shortlisted organisations and individuals are a key part in helping us to collectively achieve this.

“We’re especially looking forward to seeing colleagues from across the sector at the ceremony. We often get caught up in delivering the day job so don’t take time to reflect on the great work we do but the Essex Housing Awards, and the ceremony in particular, is a chance for us to do just that.

“We’d like to congratulate all of this year’s shortlisted nominees. Whether you win or not on the night we’re looking forward to celebrating with you all at the awards ceremony later this year.”

Jason Knights, Managing Director at Ground Control

“We’re pleased to be part of the Essex Housing Awards and sponsoring the ‘Meeting Housing Need’ category. As a company with its roots in Essex, we’re proud to engage with local projects, enhance nature, and support the development of the region.

“[Specifically since Ground Control] has always been passionate about enhancing our local community and county, these awards are also a fantastic opportunity to network and meet businesses that share this passion. We hope to leave the event celebrating the collective success of Essex businesses and with some exciting local contacts to continue to support the industry.

“Good luck to all the fantastic businesses shortlisted at this year’s awards. The list of finalists truly showcases excellence in every category. We are excited to be a part of this. Becoming a finalist is an excellent achievement and something that we look forward to celebrating.”

Steve Juson, Managing Director at Kind & Company

“Kind are delighted to sponsor the award category for ‘Climate Action Decarbonisation / Retrofit & New Build. [This is a] very important category for us because as an organisation, we are passionate about low-carbon delivery for our clients. We are looking forward to seeing who walks away with this award on 7 November!

“We are also looking forward to celebrating the great talent of Essex in the housing sector—which we proudly play a part in.

“Good luck to all those who have been shortlisted and enjoy the evening!”
