01 About South Essex Housing Group

Supporting the preparation, delivery and monitoring of local housing strategies across the South Essex and the wider Strategic Planning Framework

The South Essex Housing Group will support the preparation, delivery and monitoring of local housing strategies across the South Essex and the wider Strategic Planning Framework.
In doing so it will provide a framework for joint and collaborative working and commissioning between the authorities and developers on common cross cutting themes e.g. shared priorities and investment.

It will also provide a forum for contacts and good practice between local authorities in South Essex, Essex Housing Officers Group, Essex County Council, Housing Associations, Developers, Homes England, South East Local Enterprise Partnership (SELEP) and other sub national bodies.

Through its membership and dedicated Strategy Coordinator, it will ensure issues that affect South Essex and greater Essex are raised and actioned at the necessary level. This will be done by reviewing and analysing the impact of other strategies and agendas and their likely impact on the area.
