Independent Living Housing Advisor

This role is part of the Independent Living Team based in the Older Person’s Commissioning Team working across the County Council’s responsibilities for Adult Social Care services and delivering the vision “Putting communities at the heart of Adult Social Care, enabling people to live their lives to the fullest”. Essex County Council has an ambitious Extra Care Housing Programme to provide over 700 new contemporary homes for Older People and people with housing, care and support needs. The Extra Care Housing Programme has ambitions to achieve savings for adult social care budgets. The Independent Living Housing Advisor will draw together and co-ordinate the development and occupancy of Extra Care Housing across Essex, delivered in partnership with registered providers. You’ll work as part of a small team of enthusiastic and committed individuals who have housing and social care experience.

Housing Options Officer HO016

We are looking for a capable and ambitious individual to join our team as we continue our positive work in preventing homelessness.   As a Housing Options Officer, you will:

• Carry out initial assessments of individuals’ circumstances.
• Provide tailored advice to enable the applicant to resolve their housing difficulty.
• Confirm the duties the Council owe to the applicant in writing.
• Continually review and update the advice and support we can provide to the applicant.
• Make enquiries to satisfy yourself with the facts of the application.
• Make lawful decisions in accordance with the legislation.
• You will have a manageable level of cases.

Housing Options Support Officer H&C14

We are looking for someone to assist with the provision of a seamless service for those seeking advice and assistance with their housing.   You will identify potentially homeless applicants and assist with preventing their homelessness wherever possible, providing a frontline customer focus triage service for people seeking housing.     In addition, in line with the Council’s allocations policy, you will be responsible for assessing applications from households wishing to join our housing register for social housing.

Tenancy Sustainment Support Officer

An opportunity has arisen in the Housing Options Team to support maintaining tenancies within both the social and private rented sector for the purposes of delivering homelessness prevention. The post holder will provide support mainly to the Tenancy Sustainment Officer and be responsible for a range of activities relating to the prevention of homelessness.
